This piece documents the setting up of nine one day long exhibitions over the period of the first nine days for the 'Making Do' exhibition, which took place at 4, Sth Leinster St, Dublin 2, from 16th - 25th June 2004.

The time-lapse photography was taken either on the evening before, or the morning of their shows, whenever they were setting up or installing their work. It was commisioned by Curator Glenn Loughran for the show. He asked if I would produce a video to accompany my piece 'Room-Tone', to be presented on the closing night of the show.

I chose time-lapse photography and the metaphor of stop-motion as a way of representing the starts and stops, headaches and hassles, inherent in the process of completing ten separate exhibitions in as many days. The challenge was to have all nine days edited and ready for exhibition on the tenth day, while completing the 'Room Tone ' piece at the same time.

Glenn's companion piece 'Diary of an exhibitionist', his journal decribing the process of curating the show is distributed with 'Stop - Motion - Archive' in the 'Making Do - Diary and Archive' boxed set.
